Joe West is king of the "I feel bad for you, lets pretend its LL and because it was a 3-0 count, you could hit the guy and I'd call it a strike" attitude. Don't gift the Angels, this is the big leagues.

Lackey is an enigma. I have no idea why Scosia continues to roll him out against the Sox year after year... bad things just happen to that dude.

And as I say that, Youk is about to strike out.

That was a gift strike for Lackey on 3-0. And maybe for Boston. Is Ortiz the guy we want up? Never mind.

Josh Beckett's going to have to live up to his postseason rep. No pressure.

Dammit. Lester, he'll swing at ANYTHING, don't throw him a BP fastball.

tie does go to the runner, and when it happened live, I thought he was clearly safe, but only on SUPER slo mo you could tell Pedroia got his foot there a microsecond before figgins... I'll take it, this is getting dicy though.

Let's see if Lester can get a grounder from Hunter.

Usually the winner of "the worst umpire in MLB" voted on by the player.

But you know that awesome MLB, making sure the best umpires umpire in the playoffs!
Not sure about that ump--don't know him, can't comment. I'll take your word for it.

It does seem like there is extra scrutany(sp) during the playoffs. As it should be. Glad my job isn't watched that close in slow motion replay

At least the Halo's didn't score on the play.

(And I do have to admit that I'm currently watching Wild/Kings and didn't see the rest of the inning. The rate the hockey game is going, however, I don't think I'll be watching for much longer--at least until later when the Wild seem to be able to get it together.)

EDIT: Not many in the greater Los Angeles area are watching the game, either--at least at the STAPLES. I wonder what else might be going on in town

8 pitch inning. Lackey's really settling down. So much for chasing him in the 5th or 6th inning.
