Isn't the umpire supposed to notice the ball hitting Vlad making it a dead ball...and the first base umpire realizing that you know, Vlad was safe.

First game of the Phils-Dodgers was a hoot (particularly when you don't care who wins). Who was the used car salesman in the cornflower blue suit doing the on-field? Dude made Ahmad Rashad look professional.

Did it seem to anyone else like ThanksDad (or maybe ThanksGrandad is more appropriate) Carey wasn't familiar with the first-base-is-occupied third strike rule with fewer than two outs? He seemed befuddled and Buck Martinez had to explain it to the audience. Obviously the guy has to know the rule -- did it just not occur to him? Either way, he sounded like an idiot.

Worst. Booth. Ever.

That annoying kid that did sideline reporting for the Little League World Series and Joe Morgan would be an improvement. Okay, scratch the Joe Morgan part. Bottom line: They suck.
