  • Youtube video on a powerpoint?

Hey does anyone know if there is anyway I can save a youtube video to my computer or put it onto a power point so I can show it at school? I'm a teacher and the schools software doesn't allow us on the website.

I use a Firefox Addon called Video Download Helper (https://addons.mozilla.org/en-US/firefox/addon/3006/), though there are others. Once saved, you can insert it into your presentation (though make sure it's embedded to be safe). Good luck!

I don't have a solution (I saw a guy try this once, and he almost lost an eye), but your last sentence reminded me of how our marketing department would sent an internal newsletter almost daily, and it would often have links to videos the company had posted to YouTube. This was great, except IT had blocked YouTube so we couldn't see the content that our company created.

Not sure if this still works, haven't tried it in a long time, but I got about six or seven videos off Youtube doing this process. You will probably need to download an MP3 converter though.

        1. find video
        2. right click, get page source
        3: ctrl find: watch_full
4: copy text from the question mark at the end of full screen (include this) to the
& sign at the end of title (don't include this)
        5. Take out youtube url after the slash, and replace with get_video and then copy the
        text from the page source.
        6. Download it, and then change file name to .avi

so i did both of those and it said that it can't put video into the powerpoint. My guess is that it is a FLV type file and thats not supported by power point. Can I change the video format?

The KeepVid website allows you to pick the format you want to download it in. Try MP4.
