Indeed, 99.9% of vampires in the Stackhouse novels are cold blooded killers who only get excited about killing and blood, they simply don't care about anything else. There are several points where Sookie gets too comfy around them and pays for it. They are capable of being very human, but when you get right down to it, they'll suck you dry with a smile.

And they better **** well do the big reveal about Bill on the HBO series. They already hinted at it near the end of the second season.

Netflix tells me I should have two movies waiting for me when I get home: Secretary and Gran Torino. Interesting combination - not sure which one we'll watch first.

          "Walled In"

Surprisingly decent, intelligent thriller, badly marketed as torture porn.

Secretary was pretty interesting. I have yet to see Gran Torino.

I managed to catch The Vikings last night on TMC. Amazingly pretty cinematography from 1958(?) of Norway. And Kirk Douglas was a very pretty man ... although Tony Curtis just doesn't seem to be very "barbaric". Ernest Borgnine was a hoot as the Viking king.

I was also amazed some of the Vikings had boot soles. Clearly an advanced culture.

                  The Sting.

It's always a fun movie to watch and you can't get much better than Newman, Redford, and Shaw. The music never fails to get stuck in my head after watching.

                    Anvil: The Story Of Anvil

Again, a rock-doc in the style of a non-glossed over Behind The Music.

However, especially compared to "Edgeplay: Story of the Runaways" this was a little more emotion-driven and it depicted more of a current story rather than a history of the band.

It will tug at your heartstrings some times, and other times you'll want to just yell "it's OVER" to the band. Either way, I liked it in the fact that you can realize that many bands go through the same things Anvil does/did, but never even get to receive the praise from mega-successful peers (Slash, Lemmy, and Lars have quotes in the movie praising Anvil as an influence).

Even if you don't like the music (which I like the style, but yeah the songs' lyrics are very Spinal Tap-esque and probably the reason they didn't ever hit it big), you probably will enjoy the movie the way it delves into the lives of the band. It really reminded me of "The Wrestler" except instead of wrestling, it's the music biz.

Probably not worth owning, but worth a view for sure.
Never really developed a taste for tequila. Kind of hard to understand how you make a drink out of something that sharp, inhospitable. Now, bourbon is easy to understand.

Days or Weeks? I liked the original. The sequel -- serious disappointment.

                            Days...

I am not a Zombie guy minus the older flicks (or remakes thereof) but I had heard nothing but good things about the movie so I gave it a try. Just wasn't my cup of tea.

I think part of it was how they opened the movie with the explaination of what caused the breakout...I think it works better when you don't know. Some things don't need origins.

I also watched Escape from New York the other day and loved it! I read that for a while last year they wanted Gerard Butler to play Snake in the remake...wow that would have sucked! (then again any remake of this movie will suck)

The Blind Side was pretty good. It's doing really well, too.
