We were above 80*F here in Chicago for 5 consecutive days (Wed.-Sun)... All 5 days were record highs... Before this year, the most 80*F days we've had in March was 3.... Usually our first back to back 80* days are well into April...

    Unbelievable...

Hell no! Knowing Minnesota weather we'll probably be above 50 from here on out.

C'mon, yesterday you were all over this one. Why the cold feet?

Without a T storm warning or anything, sounds like some houses lost power and some people lost their roof in a "public spotted" tornado around 6:30 last night near Elysian.

Oh Elysian. Spent a decent amount of time on that lake back in the day. Good times.

We're well on our way to the warmest March in recorded history. At least the rain in the forecast should lessen the severity of the drought a bit, and the ground is certainly no longer frozen, so it should have no trouble absorbing the rainfall.

For those who are wondering, there is no correlation between a warm spring and a warm summer.

Also, it appears as though the weak la nina may switch to an el nino later this year (and should that happen, another mild winter is likely in store for us).

I disregard the equinox / solstices when it comes to establishing what season it is and go by the meteorological calendar:
                      Dec, Jan, Feb = winter
                      Mar, Apr, May = spring
                      Jun, Jul, Aug = summer
                      Sep, Oct, Nov = fall

Only during this run of weather would 50 feel 'cold' in mid-March.

I go pretty close to that, but use holidays instead:

                          Thanksgiving - Easter = Winter
Easter - Memorial Day = Spring
Memorial Day - Labor Day = Summer
Labor Day - Thanksgiving = fall

Now, I do realize that the spring part of this is a little messed up, but more or less it gets us there.

Hopefully it gets down to about 20 degrees for several days in April, to murder the ****ing mosquitos.
