  • Five Guys

Just discovered today that there's a Five Guys in Manchester, NH. Until today, all I knew was the nearest one was in Dedham, MA., quite a haul for a good burger. A bit pricey, but worth it.
What kind of cheese are you planning to put on top?

There's a lot of grease in their gut bombs, but every once in a while, they're good. Amazing fries, and peanuts while you wait (which will be for quite some time).

Yeah, drove by it a couple months back, and was shocked. I don't think they advertised much around here, just opened one day.

The cajun fries are ridiculously good. Always remember to never order a large unless you're feeding an army.

So true. When I went to Pittsburgh, I went to Five Guys and ordered the large fries. I can put away a lot of food, but I need some help from my fiance to finish the large fries. The burgers were awesome though and the wait actually wasn't too bad. I still like In -N- Out Burger better though, but Five Guys is excellent.

only been to the one in dedham, but i think its overrated from all the buzz on here. there is also rarely a wait, so maybe that is saying something.

the burgers are much better than the fries. you want good fries, find curly's on the boardwalk in wildwood new jersey.

They're good. But I'm thinking about going to Smashburger this weekend.

5 Guys was started in the Virginia suburbs of DC and there are many in the area including one about a block west of the Verizon Center on H Street.

Yeah, there are a ton of them in NoVa. I can't imagine what they look like without all the Washingtonian Magazine "Best Of" pages in the foyer.

I suspect that because they are now a chain, they aren't eliigble for those awards anymore. Otherwise it seems odd that they would brag about a series of awards that doesn't include recent years.

Good burgers, at least in comparison to McD's/BK/Wendy's. There's one near me in Brooklyn; good thing it's not really on my way home from work or I'd go there more often than I do.

My wife and I ate at the one on H Street a couple weeks ago when I was in DC for business. Good burgers and very generous fries. I think I'd still take In-and-Out first, but Five Guys is good. Thankfully we have both here in Tempe.

I've had Five Guys once, and In-N-Out once. Not sure that's enough of a sample size to formulate an opinion other than they both are much better than McD/BK/etc. I just checked and there are two Five Guys in the Cities, one in St. Cloud, one in Duluth and one in Fargo. Of course, the nearest In-N-Out is in Utah...
