First dominoes to drop, Jordan Campbell (LB) and TJ Bryant (S) will take advantage of the NCAA rule and transfer out from USC.

Combined with Jarvis Jones transferring out because the USC doctor would not clear him to play after his bad neck injury (independent doctors would) and that's 3 scholarships saved. 7 to go.

Its an interesting thing... the bowls know they are disadvantaged by fewer leagues... and they're further disadvantage by a super-conference league.

If they really want to protect their butts, they get the playoff system in place to stop pushing shenanigans.

The NCAA's supposedly trying to tell USC they can't play at Hawai'i this year.

I distinctly remember Alabama playing at Hawaii to finish the year out during one of their no-bowl years. The players even called it their bowl game. 2002, to be exact.

The NCAA actually threw in an extra provision stating USC would not be able to take advantage of the rule to play a 13th game by playing in Hawaii.

            So to reiterate.

Bama boosters pay Bama players. Lose scholarships.
Florida State actually does the homework for their players, everyone knows. Lose scholarships, vacate some wins.

USC has one football player take benefits, NCAA makes a case that one coach knew (but has no evidence to prove it) and takes a convicted felon's word over the coach's.

Lose scholarships, vacate wins, two year bowl ban, and you can't go to Hawaii. No more open practices (has nothing to do with how things happened, but they want to stick it to USC) no media allowed at practice now.

Heard HI might sue the NCAA to let the game be played since HI will be out a million if this happens.

Which is why this time around, the NCAA sanctions specifically disallowed taking advantage of the away-game-at-Hawaii exemption.

But for a game already scheduled its stupid. These games are often decided 5 years in advance.

So you're saying it's business as usual at the NCAA? They have never been remotely consistent in their punishments, so it's not surprising they aren't now. USC is just one of the unfortunate ones that gets the book thrown at them rather than the slaps on the wrist for teams like Alabama and FSU.

I agree Hawaii shouldn't be penalized with the loss of the money. They should sue USC.

Why? He's a lot better than Hanson, the previous bump on a log head of the Pac Ten. At least he's trying to do some things for the conference. Hanson did basically nothing.

All I have to say is thank God Texas is staying put. The Pac 16 would have been a debacle.

Utah websites are reporting that they will leave the MWC for the Pac 10. Wonder if the MWC will try to poach another team from the WAC. Or maybe Houston from CUSA?

Elsewhere, it's been reported that MU, KSU, KU, ISU, and BU will be giving their Neb/CU buyout money to Tex, Okla, and A&M.

Anyone is inifinitley preferable to Hanson, but it seems like a Pac 12 for us may have been the worst option. We'll now have to pick up Utah and go to divisions (probably). If we weren't going to become a superpower, I would've prefered to keep the pure round robin intact with the traditional travel partners. I'm not sure how much half the Salt Lake City Market and the Denver market will add to our heft in new negotiations. I guess will see what kind of deal Scott can put together.

Further, Colorado-Utah isn't a rivalry on par with the other 5 rivalries (as far as I'm aware) (is it even a rivalry at all?). I would've preferred a crazy 16 team conference or just keeping it as it is, now it's sort of a weird middle ground that seems unfinished. Also if they do do divisions they better keep all the CA teams in one...
