Bob, suicide and the songs that deal with it are brutal; they really are. Personally, I am a big fan of the seemingly obvious "Like Suicide" by Soundgarden (however it's not quite what you may think - I feel you will especially connect and come to terms with with the final 2 minutes of the song). It may not entirely hit home, since Chris Cornell purportedly wrote it with a random bird in mind, but it's still quite close.

I posted my "grief" playlist in the music thread. Bixby Canyon Bridge sticks out to me because of the last four lines:

      "Then it started getting dark
I trudged back to where the car was parked
No closer to any kind of truth
As I must assume was the case with you."

Also: it seems like my prayer has been answered: Next Monday, I go in for a test with Muskegon County for a Youth Specialist job. It would be 24 hours a week, but it would be something in my field. And this is good too: Gerber Life Insurance got my application to be a telephone sales representative, and they want me to come in for a phone screening (assuming this is a test to see if I can work a telephone).

Between potentially working, being a Priority Health Champion (inspiring others to be healthy), fundraising for Team in Training, racing this year, volunteering at Faithful to Felines, and the daily grind, I will not lack things to do this summer. And it finally seems like my life has meaning and purpose again.

Prayers for the victims and survivors of the landslide in Oso, WA would be appreciated. The death toll is now at 24 with 22 missing. It is not likely many of the missing will ever be found. The rocks, trees, boulders, gravel, mud, etc. is up to 40 feet deep. Ugh.

Next question: I haven't been this busy in a long time. Even when I went back for a second round of college, there was downtime. So, I need to know how to keep all the balls in the air.

Plan things out.... Get a calendar going and write stuff down... For me, it makes things much easier to realize when things are starting to pile on top of each other... This also can give me some advance notice to said jam ups...

Agreed. When life gets busy, it helps a lot to have a calendar with everything put down on it. That's how we keep track of stuff at home. Otherwise I'd forget about things regularly.

What if you forget to look at the calendar?

I have a calendar book and I have a calendar on Outlook. Can't live without my calendar. It is looking scary right now.

It happens every once in awhile! It really makes you feel stupid when you put something down on the calendar and still manage to miss it due to not seeing it on the calendar. But, hey, life goes on and the really important things don't get forgotten.
