i guess it makes sense.. wang won 19 games two years in a row for NY.. his K/9 was 4.8. blackburn's career looks to be about 4.2. pretty similar styles in terms of sinker ball pitchers too (era+ of 107 vs 102)

    good for him

Ihaven't paid attention, but I guess this is as good as any time to ask....where is Wang? Honestly. He was one of the exceptions to my "No Yankees" rule in FBL (picked him up on Day One, and had him the next year, and then no more by choice).
Never really developed a taste for tequila. Kind of hard to understand how you make a drink out of something that sharp, inhospitable. Now, bourbon is easy to understand.

      • Figures this is the one game of the series I couldn't watch.

I only caught the last 2-2.5 innings, if it makes you feel any better.

Pretty much. When the other team hits it near someone, Blackburn wins. When they hit gaps, the bad thing happens.

Well if you'd lose a bit of your gut, you might be able to see it again.

Couldn't resist. You set it up so perfectly.

Unused Wang... if that isn't the story of USCHO, I don't know what is.

This is probably the smartest thing said on this thread. Seriously. The worst part is that it's more like 8-10 year olds. I hated watching that when I was umpiring little league ball. These kids are just destroying their joints. Rock and fire baby, stop trying to throw breaking balls until your elbow is strong enough (high school).

GreatLakerMohawk: Nathan appears to be the only smart one here. Again.

There's no problem with throwing the curveball young on its face. The problem is young pitchers won't use proper mechanics to throw the curveball, using their arm and shoulder twist to create movement instead of using the wrist: which is the proper way to throw it.

They're trying to create unnatural movement and that's the problem.

Then throw in the absurd amount of pitches they're letting these young kids throw, and it all boils down to a lot of stupidity.

Sliders mess up your arm no matter how old you are. Just depends on what kind of pain you're going to let yourself go through.

I didn't even include the #CrainWreck in my "How to Fix the Twins" listing.

                                Yikes. He sucks.

As much as I love him...the Twins *START*...START...Nick Punto. START.

                                AT THIRD BASE.

There has to be *SOMEONE* who is better.

Anyway, I'm so relieved that the Twins beat the Yankees. The "1 out of 3 ain't bad against the Yankees" is relived.

I dunno. Maybe it's Gardy? Who knows.
