  • Easter 2010: Alleluia, Christ has risen!

    Luke, Chapter 24 verses 1-8

"On the first day of the week, very early in the morning, the women took the spices they had prepared and went to the tomb. They found the stone rolled away from the tomb, but when they entered, they did not find the body of the Lord Jesus. While they were wondering about this, suddenly two men in clothes that gleamed like lightening stood beside them. In their fright, the women bowed down with their faces to the ground, but the men said to them, "Why do you look for the living amoung the dead? He is not here, he has risen! Remember how he told you, while he was still with you in Galilee: The Son of Man must be delivered into the hands of sinful men, be crucified and on the third day be raised again'". Then they remembered his words."

Alleluia! God has delivered us from our sins through the birth, death, rising from the dead and ascension into heaven of his Son, Jesus Christ.

    Victory is ours! Alleliua!

Ok, seriously, yeah he has won a couple gold gloves and a few batting titles, even an MVP. But really, does he need his own thread?

                Biff: Chapter One

The boy took the lizard from his mouth and handed it to his younger brother, who sat beside him in the sand. The younger boy played with the lizard for a while, teasing it until it reared its little head as if to bite, then he picked up a rock and mashed the creatures head. Bewildered, he pushed the dead lizard around in the sand, and once assured that it wasnt going anywhere on its own, he picked it up and handed it back to his older brother.

Into his mouth went the lizard, and before I could accuse, out it came again, squirming and alive and ready to bite once again. He handed it back to his younger brother, who smote it mightily with the rock, starting or ending the whole process again.

And the preacher said, you know you always have the Lord by your side
And I was so pleased to be informed of this that I ran
Twenty red lights in his honor
Thank you Jesus, thank you Lord

Foxton, leave them alone. There's no need to antagonize them for no reason. You have your beliefs (aka atheism) and they have theirs.

Why can't you leave them be? I know you'll make something up like they deserve it for starting the thread or whatever.

But come on leave them be.

                        Have a Happy Easter people.

Hey, I'm cool with Jesus. We got ourselves a nice little deal.

However, I don't need people shouting out from the mountaintops of what they believe in, shouting out religion in general, etc.

Just say "Happy Easter" and be done with it.

It's all in good fun. Nothing about all religions is any less ludicrous than Susan Sarandon giving thanks to Mother Earth for what she's given us.
