I also appreciate that 99.99% of the world will be rooting for Arizona State.

I hope it is 8 below in South Bend.
It was supposed to be so the P4 champs would always get a bye but the Big XII screwed that up this year. Plus Boise having a Heisman candidate.

Reports said ND actually preferred the byes being held for conference champs because it meant an extra home game, and they even changed the academic calendar so students would still have a chance to be around that weekend.

I’m hoping not as he supposedly turned down 7 figures from them last year

But we can have a good laugh when Alabama plays the first round in Columbus or South Bend in the snow.

    New bracket:

    Byes:
    1) Oregon
    2) Texas
    8) SMU
    10) Boise

    1st round:
    15) Arizona State at 3) Penn State
    7) Tennessee at 6) Ohio State
    11) Alabama at 4) Notre Dame
    9) Indiana at 5) Georgia
At this point they can’t play their way out. Which is pretty terrible.

Think you ever had a tough first day on the job?

Four-star running back Jonathan Hatton decommitted from Oklahoma on Monday night, he told ESPN, pulling his pledge from the Sooners hours after the program announced the hiring of Washington State offensive coordinator Ben Arbuckle.

Hatton, a 6-foot-1 rusher from Cibolo, Texas, in the class of 2026, is ESPN's fourth-ranked running back and the No. 61 overall prospect in the ESPN Junior 300. Committed to Oklahoma since October 2023, Hatton was the top-ranked member of the Sooners' 2026 class before pulling his pledge...

Hatton's decommitment follows a pair of departures from the Sooners' 2025 class over the past 24 hours as four-star wide receiver Marcus Harris (No. 138 in the ESPN 300) and three-star pass catcher Gracen Harris each pulled their pledges from Oklahoma

CFP rankings don't come out until tomorrow, but if we follow the AP, the first round byes would be:

    1) Oregon - B1G
    2) Texas - SEC
    8) SMU - ACC
    10) Boise - MW

Three schools in their first year in a conference and one school leaving their current conference in two years.

Meh, one of them got knocked down, they rushed in to keep him from getting trampled by the idiot players. I condone it in this instance.

Those two conferences will simply add another 4-5 schools then leave and create their own NFL style playoff in 20 years.

Florida State should suspend the entire team for the season opener as punishment. Thus, they avoid losing 73-0 to Alabama to open the season.

One of those, "I don't condone it, but I get it" moments.

and several teams demonstrated the teams aren't mature enough and the coaches aren't going to end it themselves. So before we have more of this crap, end it now.

Im fine with it on neutral site games. But away games, nope.
