My grandfather is safe. SOB was the only person on his street who did not evacuate. Surge brought water up the street, but fortunately did not enter his house and the roof appears to be intact. Just a lot of junk and sewage in the yard and neighborhood in general. No power and lines down everywhere, so it'll be a boring few days while he picks at whatever dry and canned goods he's got. But importantly, he's alive.

This guy in NC will not accept any assistance from Fema and has lost everything. He tells his family on the phone he doesn't have any food or water. Son in law is beside himself because his father in law is so under the spell (in the cult) of Donald Trump that he will not accept any help.

Nobody goes there; it's too crowded.

Saw a picture of a dumpster on someone’s roof. Yikes.

in the same thread, mayor was criticized for saying that the predicted storm surge would cover a house. Sad that it was exactly correct.

It's why you (should) seal coat roads.

Can they staple on a new roof in time for Opening Day?

I thought they were using the Trop for staging power line crews?

My Mom in Law made it through it , 8 miles or so southeast of Tampa, pretty near where eye came ashore. No internet or power(she has a generator though) but phone still works. She was lucky. Doesn't know what outside looks like yet.
