That's the point that seems to be missed. The Dems didn't convey that message to most of the country.
So bringing the inflation from 10% down to 2 wasn't enough for you? Unemployment dropping from 6-7% down to 3-4% wasn't enough?

What more did you want, Joe to drop $500 in your bank account every month? Jesus effin Christ.

      • You mean telling you that the reason egg prices are high was because the bird flu decimated the chicken population is college level stuff, and way over your head?

So telling you that no, gas prices are actually pretty low now is way over your head?

That we have a record level stock market is too difficult for you to understand and process?

That says way more about you than it does about me.

Oh, your example is two fishing reels isn't it? Gonna Google now to see if I'm right. Nope, fishing lure.

Using your example let's say you want to message in support of the Rapela SR-7. On your podcast, you're gonna break down pros and cons of both. Describe the nuanced differences in similar color styles, maybe angle of the barb on the hooks, or the quantity of hooks on the lure. Dig up some dusty stats about how in lakes with an average temperature of 53F or colder, which happen to be where a majority of your listeners fish, the Rapela is the better brand.

Meanwhile, I've got a podcast that wants to promote the Strike King. I could do the same, but I want to get people interested. I'm gonna yell and sh*t on the Rapela product. The lime green on the Strike King is miles ahead of the safety yellow coward color on the Rapela. The extra barb on the Strike King hook (in reality a manufacturing defect) really rips into the fish for an extra hold when you're fighting for your life reeling in a Marlin. Oh, the Strike King absolutely can attract Marlin. F*ck your Rapela only able to catch minnows and maybe a trout. Strike King has concepts of a plan on being able to self fillet your fish for you as well. You'll hear more in two weeks. So go get you a salt water Marlin from your fresh water lake, go buy a Strike King! Oh! And we promise that the Strike King will also lower the cost of your next fishing license! Pinky promise!

On some alternate reality fishing forum, Scooby rightfully points out how terrible the messaging is about the Rapela. Handy says he's bartended for the Strike King representatives and they all brag about using the Rapela. Kepler works for a dynamite company that is guaranteed to get you *all* of the fish. Trix only uses Storm Tundersticks because his lure doesn't matter. Jeb! says he only fishes using a 1996 Honda Civic as bait.

And then the entire world is caught off guard when the Strike King is a better seller at the same time while people haven't gotten discounts on fishing licenses OR caught a Marlin yet.

TL;DR... Eric summed it up succinctly.
          That is brilliant.

And we all know which podcast Race boarder would be listening to.

Actually, yea, an extra $6,000/year would do wonders.

I want to be able to live in the area I've lived my entire life. If my apartment gets sold or my landlord loses empathy, I simply can't do that. Being told that "You're single and you're poor. You can't live on your own in the SW Chicago Suburbs is a hard pill to swallow". I'll be priced out of every possible place in the area unless I move another 30-40 minutes out into "rural" IL. I feel like I'm literally being pushed away.

You are literally making the "Avocado Toast" argument with this.

            • btw why would Americans vote for Democrats up & down their ballots but not for POTUS? Supposedly 90% of counties saw an increase in R voting share yet Trump received fewer votes than in 2020? The said thing is that everyone will now be afraid to explore the possibility something nefarious happened because of 2020.

The Dems did that during Covid, if you had kids $300/month tax credit for kids under 6, $250 for older kids.

What happened? As soon as Repubs got the House back, they let that program expire. No more extra financial help for families.

Oh, but the effing price for eggs is too high. Got eff yourself.

Explain rent being 30% more in my area over the last 4 years. Explain groceries, as a whole, costing 30% more. Explain cars being 30% more.

All while my wages are up 15%.

And yes, I understand why all this is. The point I was trying to make was that for white males under 45, this point WAS NOT made clear to them before last Tuesday. And that is why we are in the predicament we are currently in. Again, you talk down to people less educated than yourself and get ticked when they don't listen to you.

Why are you fixated on eggs?

Eggs are like 3% of my total grocery bill.

You forgot that I obviously did IT consulting work billed at $250/hr for all of the corporations involved. So when RB's friends call customer service to complain that their new lure broke on their first trip out with it, there's a good chance I designed the customer complaint process & playbook.

Yes because MN hasn't swung the opposite way since 1972. Do you not understand how the EC works?

It isn't enough because wages didn't go up by enough to compensate. If the cost of certain goods goes up by 33% and wages go up by 3% it doesn't matter if those goods now only going up by 2%.

No I'm not. I'm explaining reality to you, using actual facts.

You can't afford where you live? Cut your effin' expenses. What's that effin Monster drink that you HAVE to have cost, $3? Every frickin day! Just one, or do you get two?

Get another job. Enough with the 'side gig' ****, get a real effin job. Maybe one where you have to work with your hands, or do actual physical labor. Maybe where you gotta work 10-12 hours a day. Those pay pretty well from what I hear. Them shiftless immigrants got no problem doing those jobs.

I mean, bootstraps, right? That's what the Repubs tell you the answer is.

                            Corporate price gouging.

But you don't wanna hear that. You'd rather whine that it's Biden's fault and why doesn't he do something about it?

Let alone, if he did try imposing price controls, or more regulation, or penalizing the gougers, all you'd hear would be "Socialism!! Pinko Commie authoritarianism!!!! Radical Leftists!!!!" and you'd be right in forefront leading the cries

It was made perfectly clear. People either just chose to not hear, or just ignore it because reasons.......

And again, the only real fix for that is deflation and a full blown Depression.
