Canada may be easier. And for most of us on this board, the weather is pretty similar. Let alone HOCKEY.

      • Anecdotal, but there was a remarkably notable shift in tone for the Dumpy's at work.

They are all "ready for the election to be over" and are sick of all the Political ads and all the "political BS".

I guess this might be a sign that some of them are ready to accept that the Orange One may not be a shoe in? One can only hope.

I've semi-seriously looked into what it takes to emigrate to Canada in the past. It's only easy if you 1) are young (preferably under 35), 2) speak both English and French, 3) have means of supporting yourself prior to moving, and 4) work in a job that is highly sought after. Having prior ties to Canada through family or education also help but less so than the first four.

My wife and I would be borderline on the age front, though she has some French language skills and could get up to proficiency if needed. Since we'd need to take a few classes to get admitted to the bar up there, we could probably gain some points for temporary residency through an education visa first before going for permanent residency, though that may be offset by the age factor in the interim.

It honestly may be easier to go to Europe as long as you aren't picky about the country.

Even IF she only listened to news from Puerto Rico- there's no logical reason to think dumpy will do Puerto Rico well. Maybe she forgot that he withheld money that congress gave to them for Maria aid, and that he then did it again when the earthquakes happened later in the same year. Maybe she forgot that he's full on the crypto boys moving down there and not paying taxes, which just drains the island of resources. Maybe she also forgot that over 2000 people died post Maria because of the power recover was so slow that many people died in hospitals that didn't have power. Or that way more than 17 people died directly from the hurricane (as dumpy liked to point out) because +90% of the island was cut off from the rest of the island due to power and communication outages- which was made worse because the US refuses to help rebuild the infrastructure.

Most certainly she does not see the ads where anyone who has a skin tone and black hair is criminal, drug running, murdering, rapist. Since that paints the picture of EVERYONE that looks like that is bad, not just the illegal immigrants.

More likely, she's just a "good Catholic" so she hates gays and is happy with the abortion being overturned, and that the rest of the island can suffer so that that can happen.

Just a reminder that voting for one issue is not the way to go- it's a system. What are you giving up to get the one thing you want?

Was a lot harder 7 years ago than it is now. They've removed a lot of restrictions to make it easier for qualified people to get jobs here.

However, a lot of companies are slower to react so you'll still have a significantly better chance of getting a job if you're already in country.

You'd now be able to move here and have a 6-12 month visa just to look for a job as long as you're able to show you can support yourself financially during that time. Much better than the 90 day tourist visa before.

At worst, move here and get a freelance job until you find something permanent.

Is this the October surprise? And Tamron Hall? Is this actually true??
No...and I don't buy the story for a second. This seems like bait trying to get people to jump at BS so they can say "see its all lies!". Not one reputable news source is even looking at it based on my cursory search.

Even if it was, this is a weak October Surprise in comparison to everything else.

Depends where you go. I was looking at Scotland myself although being part of the UK is not ideal

This. Europe seems nice until you see the results the far right parties there have been getting. Add in being an immigrant AND an American? No thanks.

He has been filing them there for months...but yeah his tirade today tells me internal numbers must be bad so far.

And not just there...even CNN can't hide it. According to their polling of early voters:

                          Michigan: 61-35 Harris
                          Wisconsin: 60-38 Harris
                          Pennsylvania: 57-40 Harris

Now usual caveats of how polling sucks, people lie and early voting is not a guarantee of success. That said those numbers are bad. In fact outside of that poll overall saying Pennsylvania is tied 48-48 (I struggle to buy that math) amongst highly motivated likely voters Harris leads 50-47. It's even worse in Wisconsin and Michigan. (52/47 and 51/45)

                          Just. Keep. Fighting.

In ways, sure, but not likely in a way where I’ll be punished for not having kids.

I’ve lived in Europe twice. I’m very aware of the drawbacks.

I didn't watch but probably. He apparently said no one has been better to Puerto Rico than him and he barely knew the comedian...I [bleep] you not.

Of course the Trump Campaign approved of all the jokes and even censored one that called Harris a See You Next Tuesday...that was too far.
