I won’t say it explains a lot, because he says so many things that aren’t true, but it explains a lot that he’s claiming them.

        But it was only fantasy,
His votes were too low, as you can see,
The tuna got him poisoned by mercury,
And the worms ate into his brain.

Every time I hear that, I wait for some evidence that Dems were crossing over and cooking the books and it never comes. The numbers are in line with everywhere else and I just don't see Indiana Dems being motivated enough to care. It serves zero purpose outside of a headline.

But the main question is how many of those Hailey voters will actually pull the lever for Biden (or stay home). Very few, I'd wager.

Even if they just stay home, it's a win

Well sure, but primary voters tend to be rather highly motivated. How many of these primary voters that voted for Hailey will even stay home?

Maybe I'm being cynical. But I've heard too many "Trump is not fit for office" statements followed up by "but I'll vote for the GQP nominee".

Maybe the Haley supporters who don't stay home will just leave the POTUS section blank, even if they vote for down-ballot Rs? It's not ideal, but better than them voting a straight ticket.

It's not gonna give Biden an extra 15%+ in a red state like Indiana in November. But it shows cracks in the armor.

That's the key takeaway here. It's no difference in a place like Indiana. But in purple areas like GA, PA, MI, WI, etc. it can be all the difference needed.

And it depends on how motivate they are to vote for the down-ballot Rs, if they are unmotivated by the POTUS race. The Trump people in the RNC stealing any spare funds from those other races might affect things there (maybe).

It doesn't need to be much. Look he is going to win Indiana that isn't the point. The point is the trend, the point is that his margin for error is slim anyways and getting slimmer by the day thanks to states putting abortion on the ballot. He lost in 2020 with nearly 100% buy in from the GOP so even a small dropoff for him is catastrophic. And in each state we are seeing a rather consistent and significant "Phuck No" vote when there is no reason for there to be one. (it makes more sense for Biden to have one) Not to mention in a lot of states there is a noticeable lack of enthusiasm, voting numbers not being as high as expected on their side. That was discounted early because of weather but now? (not in Indiana which shows a different issue for him)

Trump should be getting Biden numbers in almost every state. Especially now he is the nominee this is the coronation. In 2020 Trump got over 500k votes against Bill Weld who got 44k. He barely broke 460k this time against Haley who dropped out quite a while ago and still tripled Weld. None of that is good news for him and shows that even if Kep is right and some of it is Dems voting Haley to putz up the numbers, she still took 9% of his votes away even when she had no chance and I am willing to bet we know exactly where those votes are. In Indiana that won't mean much, but if he is struggling that bad in states he dominates how is he going to win the states he has to win and demos are against him? Despite "polling" he is not playing with a lead here he is up against an incumbent, he has an anchor around his neck in Abortion that is killing him in the suburbs and is going to rock the vote and he has a House that is so defective they almost removed a second Speaker and handed the office over to the Dems. Oh, and he is currently on trial which is not helping him AT ALL.

There is still a lot of time, but needs every GOPer to be with him if he wants any chance to take advantage of any perceived "Biden Protest Vote". If he can't make up ground and just treads water then math is not on his side. His not extending an olive branch to Haley was a massive tactical error.

Donald Trump has a deal for Big Oil: if they raise $1 billion and send him back to the White House, he’ll gut environmental protections and roll back @JoeBiden’s progress in fighting climate change.
It’s corruption, pure and simple. And it would be a disaster for our planet.

Yup, a lot of states have open primaries. It looks like the majority do. I think it was an attempt by voters to weaken the parties and make the selection process more democratic, but in practice I think it just leads to dirty tricks.

"Operation Chaos" was predicated on Republicans crossing the aisle to mess up the Democratic primary in SC.
