Premier League promoted: Southampton, Leicester City, and Ipswich Town.

Relegated: Luton Town, Burnley, and Sheffield United

All three of last season's promoted clubs have suffered an immediate return to the second tier for only the second time in Premier League history.
A bad cause requires many words.

Hope Luton made their money back on all they had to invest in their stadium to make it able to accommodate modern HD TV capabilities.

mookie wanted to see Leeds promoted (and for Luton to stay). But also wanted forest to stay so when it came down to forest or Luton it was a thought call….

TIL there is a deaf national women’s soccer team. And they’ve never lost. 37-0-1. Playing on TruTV right now and I don’t think Australia has gotten it past midfield.

Another MLS team not named Seattle loses in the CONCACAF Champions Cup Final. This time it's Columbus' turn as they lose 3-0 to Pachuca.

That’ll tackle like 0.05% of their debt!

                        The rich get richer(player wise).
Real Madrid are set to announce the signing of Kylian Mbappe after agreeing a five-year contract that will see the forward earn €15 million ($16.2m) a year after taxes, sources have told ESPN.

Mbappe, who arrives on a free transfer from Paris Saint-Germain, will also receive a €150m signing on fee, spread over his deal.

Not really surprising. The talent/athletic ability pool goes pretty deep in this country for women’s soccer. Yes, that even extends to players with disabilities (and that doesn’t even factor in that the US is generally better at providing opportunities for people with disabilities).

Abby Steiner is the example I like to use. She’s an elite level sprinter with two World Championships golds in the relays and has the NCAA record in the 200m. She was also an All-State soccer player and a starter at Kentucky before she quit to focus on track. She’s likely skilled enough at soccer she would be on 90% of the teams around the world and is a world class athlete, yet she’s nowhere near the depth chart for the USWNT.

16 year old Lily Yohannes scored for the USWNT last night in their 3-0 win over Korea. She’s already playing professionally in the Netherlands, and is applying for citizenship to the Netherlands to potentially play for either side internationally.

The Soccer Tournament or TST, the 7v7, $1 million winner takes all offshoot of The Basketball Tournament, is back at it against. This time there's a Men's and Women's Tournament, both with a $1 million prize. The Women's tournament is only 8 teams but the Men's tournament is up to 48 teams this year.

Teams include some notable Euro clubs (Bayern, Dortmund, Burnley, Villareal), some "teams built with old pros" like Sneaky Fox (a "that guy who played in MLS for years" team), Kwik Goal (Jimmy Conrad and DeMarcus Beasley's team) or Nani FC (built by former pro Nani), some amateur teams going for glory (like defending champs Newtown Pride FC), and a team founded by Pat McAfee (who's playing BTW) Concafa SC.

The games are very entertaining, especially with the "Target Score Finish" where the game has to end on a goal. The best part is honestly seeing all the guys who play Arena Soccer or Futsal are seemingly the key to success.
