Soccer has definitely caught on a little. There is a firetruck in our neighborhood, because an elderly woman has problems with heat stroke (this is their second visit this month). I was getting the mail so I sidled up to the driver to ask what was going on, and before anything he saw my Slovenko t-shirt and blurted out, "Oh, dude, I am so sorry."

I'm pretty sure that would not have happened 20 years ago.

I've heard not great things about this referee and he's showing it already. Missed two pretty clear "Stopping Promising Attack" yellows against Uruguay, gives the US a yellow on what should've been a foul on Uruguay.

This half has been the worst officiated half of an international match I've seen in years. This guy will continue to get assignments in CONMEBOL but he's toast internationally.
