Adam Nightingale is the real deal. He knows the ins and outs of coaching in 2023. It's hard to say now MSU will sneak up on anyone since a number of outlets are predicting good things for them, but I think they are going to be surprisingly good this year. Nightingale took a team that was already figuring things out last year and made it even better in the off-season. People I know who are as close to the game as I used to be say Artyom Levshunov might be the best defenseman in the league by the end of the season.Comment

Due to the late nature of the transfer, he won't be eligible to play until at least the GLI. Tech does not intend to seek a hardship exemption for him to play right away.Comment

Earlier this month and out of the blue, Austin Swankler (CCHA preseason Co-Player of the Year & possible Hobey candidate) put himself in the transfer portal. That same day, news broke of a "hazing incident" at BGSU. Following Swankler's decision to enter the portal, there were also social media rumors that he was doing it to flee accusations of stealing/selling team equipment. However, that seemed to be coming from shocked BG fans and obvious burner accounts, so take it with a grain of salt.Comment
