It is just a message board, and I don't need to go back into the thread to find who wrote what. I also know that the regulars that post here likely don't intend what was written in a racist light. Just set me off when I saw someone writing to the point of not bringing home someone you love because of their family or what others might think. I know what it feels like having someone you love be rejected by your family for who they are, and I can only imagine doing it in public. I don't know much at all about Harry and Megan, but I can relate to that, and it is ****ing gross. /end

    • If you care enough about the monarchy to closely follow it (which is fine by me, I don't) I find it incredulous that any royal would be criticized for supposedly being entitled. Good Lord it's practically in the job description. Unless they're a complete ****bag (I think one of them was basically kicked out right?) I can't imagine that being bothersome. But that's just me. : )

I don’t pay attention to celebrity stuff or reality tv so sometimes it’s nice to take a break from climate change and women’s bodily rights to snark on something that’s not important (insert smiley face)

              • That might be one of the silliest rankings articles I've seen. In fact, I think I'd rank it #1.

If they want to call it a ranking of the states based upon the percentage of population that possesses a graduate or professional degree, fine. That's literally what that list is. But to call it a ranking of states from least educated to most educated is absurd.

That community is already in the process of dissolution where each man begins to eye his neighbor as a possible enemy, where non-conformity with the accepted creed, political as well as religious, is a mark of disaffection; where denunciation, without specification or backing, takes the place of evidence; where orthodoxy chokes freedom of dissent; where faith in the eventual supremacy of reason has become so timid that we dare not enter our convictions in the open lists, to win or lose.

                • What do most polls/surveys/research what have you base their assessments of education status on then?
What kind of cheese are you planning to put on top?

Well for starters to have you consider their number of posts of the illustrious academic journal souixsports.com.

Well, that's the thing, you can't really do a ranking of "most educated." It's not a measurable statistic. You can do a ranking on highest percentage of high school graduates, or highest percentage of the population with a professional degree, or something like that. But categories like "most educated" and "least educated" are just clickbait attractions for people who, frankly, probably aren't that educated.

                      • Advanced degree % likely would include people moving there after graduation for work. For instance DC is at 37% per this Wiki.

You can also sort by % with at least a HS education and a bachelor's.

Conversely, the lowest rated blue state is either MI or AZ at 26 and 27....unless someone wants to argue that WI (#36) is a blue state?
If you don't change the world today, how can it be any better tomorrow?

                            • It makes sense. Conservatism is a citadel for the least capable, most cowardly portion of the population. In the US it is intertwined with religious literalism, the most naive and adolescent form of religion -- merely superstition. Finally, the thralldom of the red states to regressive politics means the least reach of education and science into the population.

The stifling effects of the Right are mutually reinforcing and push their societies backwards. The Right in the US is simply the Iranian ayatollahs, but fatter.
