Yeah, the media loved and pushed the "moderate, pro-cop" Vallas vs. "woke, progressive" Johnson narrative. I missed the dirt on Vallas that came up, but apparently his Twitter account liked some racist/sexist Tweets and he claimed it was a staffer? And he got burned for his FOP endorsement after they hosted a speech by DeFascist? Par for the course.

Vallas also touted his efforts as Public Schools superintendent. And after some digging (because the math wasn't mathin') he's the one who set CPS on a downward spiral pushing for vouchers for private schools in the late 90s, early 00s. Then cut bait and ran to a new school district elsewhere in the country to do the same. Lather, rinse, repeat about three more times, and now he comes home and campaigns on his "success."


Johnson's got a hole to dig out of with the CPD. Still waiting for those headlines of mass exodus from the FOP...

WI isn’t totally out of the woods yet. There’s a state senate special election tonight as well that the Dems need to stop the GOP from a super majority, where they could just oust the newly elected Supreme Court seat if they want.

That one currently has the GOP up 700 votes with 91% in, though it appears that Milwaukee is most of the outstanding precincts, which is good news.

He won, GOP supermajority. Maybe they'll impeach 2 so they have a 3-2 majority.

A friend in NC posted about this and posted what she supposedly ran on as well which was lifted directly from her campaign website. It certainly read like the site of a liberal. Maybe not leftist but certainly more left of the current center. It actually made me lean more towards the "she was a plant" and they were waiting for a reason to have her flip at first. Everything on her site appeared to be stuff repubs are against. But at the same time, she had been in the state house for 10 years apparently as a Dem. So that actually leads me more to bought/extorted.

We had our local elections here in Anchorage and, despite the best efforts of our idiot conservative Mayor and his cronies (which includes a prominent megachurch), the left leaning candidates seem to be pulling off a near clean sweep. It’ll keep a supermajority in our Assembly that can override any vetos and our School Board will kept sane.

It turns out that trying to run on culture war BS like drag shows and “child porn in our schools” isn’t working, especially when the current administration can’t even get the roads plowed.
