NFL 2022-23: How About A Lions vs. Jaguars Super Bowl?

Those fines are locked in by the CBA. I don’t know why Walker didn’t get fined for the Buffalo ejection, but 13k was the maximum for a first offense for an unsportsmanlike fine. Trainers don’t fall under contact with an official which would’ve deemed a much higher penalty.

Williams’ was his second fine of the year for celebrating. So he got the second offense level of 18k.

As for Reed, on review they may not have deemed him defenseless. As bad as it looks I think that play is technically legal if he was still considered a runner.

So yea, it was his second ejection for pushing a non player. So that should have been worse.

Why did Williams get fined for that? It is bad to celebrate against the packers? Pretty weak.

And I don't think a direct forearm to the head is legal at all. Runner or not- that was direct hit to the head, and it was clearly intended to do that to his head instead of his body. But now players at least know you can attempt to knock out your opponent via a head shot and not get penalized.

That's a pretty bad look for the players and NFL is a simple dance like that- is deemed so offensive that it gets penalized more than a guy who forearms a head plus a player who pushes a non player twice in a season.

In other news, formerly fired Colts coach Frank Reich gets hired by the Carolina Panthers. The Panthers overlooked the interim coach Steve Wilks who took managed to get the team to finish 6-6 for an overall record of 7-10. Mind you, they ended up very much in contention for the division championship. Wilks is an African American, so the Panthers and the NFL again look bad for a bad looking hire over a good looking black coach.

As much as I appreciate Saturday with his analysis- if he gets the Colts job.....

The dance looks as much like a Billy Johnson celebration from the 70's as anything else.

Again, the look of that being so bad it gets fined vs. the combination of the other two is pretty weak. Being potentially offensive is worse than shoving a non player and using your forearm as a potential weapon. This just a week after a player almost died on the field- so you would think that trying to cause harm is looked down upon and celebrating a good thing is not harmful.
