Stanford/Cal will do a thruple with SMU where they all play each other, with one school going to Dallas and SMU coming to play the other school; and then of course they alternate Big Game.

That leaves 6 conference games per year and 14 teams to play, so they plan to have Stanford/Cal play each team 3 times over a 7 year span (7 years * 6 games = 3 games * 14 teams). 3 will be east, 3 will be west, so for each of Stanford/Cal, 4 play 2 east 1 west and 4 play 1 east 2 west, with them flipped depending on which team. No idea what SMU does.

This all assumes it lasts for 7 years (spoiler alert: it won't).

Anyone placing money on Ivy League football games needs to be put on some sort of watchlist.

        • Dabo unloaded on a call-in fan and in this particular case the coach was 100% right.

          • Afterwards, he should unload on the guy who should have dropped the call. Stunned they let the fan rant that long

            • Holy cow, is paul feinbalm's bias showing. Yes, there are more than one questionable thing that is being alleged happening at Michigan. Sure.

But to compare some recruiting violations and a sign stealing to some other things that other programs have done (paying players when it wasn't legal) as being so much worse is crazy.

Embarrassing, sure. So much worse than other programs? Seriously?

My impression of Finebaum is he has zero bias, convictions, or f-cks to give. He's a barker at a carnival and he knows what his audience will react to. He plays them with alternating hot and cold showers.

Granted, the last time I heard him was during the Tree Saga.

Well, he will do anything to prop up the SEC, since that’s how he gets paid. Got old a long time ago.

That too is just a shtick, though, driven by the fact that 90% of his hardcore audience are from Bama.

                    • To be fair, Michigan fans are triggered by Finebaum because he trashed Harbaugh nationally for the first half dozen years he was there.

Well, when he uses the words he does, sure. He really called Michigan the most corrupt program of all time. For a recruiting violation that was pretty minor and now a person trying to steal signs. And it came out today that stealing signs isn't even prohibited- it's about personal scouting. Which pretty much everyone who has played the game says isn't even a useful rule.

Remember, SMU got the death penalty for a little while, Bush lost his Heisman, and Pedo State among others.

                          Words matter.

Relative to what other teams did, I think they are. Although some player pundits do think they are minor- like the in person scouting that was supposed to save money has turned out to be an irrelevant part of saving money. The worst about the recruiting violation is that coaches don't know how to use tools to know when you can meet with students- that was just stupid. But the real violation there was the alleged blocking of the investigation.

But other than a free burger, no players were illegally paid. Nor were children harmed. So relative to the worst violations, these are not the worst.
