First I recall Notre Dame underestimated in a pre-season poll.

    5th is underestimated? Bold prediction….
If you don't change the world today, how can it be any better tomorrow?

How is it you are buying into the hype more than I am? Trust me, 5th is not underestimating Notre Dame. While I am happy Brian Kelly is about to get exposed in ways he never was at Notre Dame, Marcus Freeman is going to be learning on the job in a place where learning on the job is a recipe for disaster. I expect Notre Dame to be very good, but there is a difference between being very good and being one of the 4 (at least) best teams in the sport.

Great returning lineup and the #1 rated recruiting class in the country (both for 22 and 23 BTW).

        I believe they deserve a rating as a 3 or 4.

Most years I think they are from somewhat to wildly overrated in pre-season polls, but this time around call me crazy, I'm drinking the green and gold gatorade.

Now watch as Ohio State blows them out by 40 on opening weekend.

We need a meteor strike when osu and nd play. For the good of society.

I fail to see how this can cover Florida State, Florida, and Miami.

There are enough Florida Man out there during the recovery to deal with them.

Notre Dame is 7th in '22. You missed all the bought players from A&M, OSU, Georgia and Alabama.

Gotta love Texas getting a single #1 vote but still coming in at #18.

It’s likely there will be no Big Ten on ESPN for the first time in 40 years.

Big Ten nearing end of media rights negotiations.

Fox gets the A package, which was expected. Big Noon plus more games on Fox, FS1 and BTN.

B package expected to be split between CBS at 3:30 and NBC in prime time, plus some games on Peacock. Not a fan of games going to Peacock. But I’ve been waiting a long time to hear the CBS college football theme open a Big Ten game.

I think once ESPN got Tier 1 SEC rights the Big Ten was looking elsewhere. You don't want to be second fiddle

Somewhere the Eric Dickerson era SMU "Pony Express" is not happy. They got the NCAA "death sentence" for $36k annually back in the day.

Now that NBC is somewhat in the mix with the BTC does that make it more likely ND will join?

                            Might make negotiations easier.

(Please, God. Give us a Big Ten TV contract with NBC where Notre Dame gets a bigger cut than any of the other members. I need that rancor in my life.)

That would be a sharp turn from what’s been one of the reasons the Big Ten has held strong in realignment. Everyone is equal, from OSU to Rutgers. The exception is the probationary period when joining (5 years?), but I think they waived that for UCLA and USC already.

It’s why Nebraska was so happy to get away from Oklahoma and Texas. Initially at least. Doesn’t seem like that sentiment may be holding up among some Husker faithful.
