    Jones-ing bad for some puck?

Well, lest we forget, World Juniors 2022 (re-)starts on August 9. OK, begins anew I guess.

Canada is running an eval camp also but I'm yet to find that roster.

Let's go Czechia (yuck) and Slovakia. Neither Norway nor Italy qualified.

Snoozefest in the latter 2 games yesterday. Today the first 2 should be blowouts with Germany - Austria being the only competitive game at 22:00.

SVK defeated LAT in a SO.
SVK was thinking they were good for the medal round with the extra point over LAT.

But then CZE, medal round already secure, goes "Amber Heard" in their breezers against LAT.
And with the L the CZEs screw the SVKs ... how geo-politically glorious.

The only thing missing is relegation (which they are not doing with this event; it returns in December).

It's not really that glorious, though. CZE and SVK (I say this having one foot in each ancestry) is like the blue states and the red states. The latter are full of self-pity and fury at the former. The former do not notice the existence of the latter.

It would be ethno-psychologically satisfying to SVK to knock out CZE. It would be "take that college boy!" Cut Across Shorty. But CZE reserves all its hate for GER and RUS. This is like Cornell eliminating Colgate.
