Given the Proud Boys and extreme right wingers threatening drag and other LGBT events, I fear something worse than The Pulse will happen.

        • I think I actually spotted that troll. Anything else and he’s truly a lunatic.
More importantly, any chance polls are now underestimating newly registered female voters looking to take aw- restore their right to choose? I won’t claim to know. Just looking for some hope as the polls inevitably tighten back up with “economy, economy, economy” clanging and banging in the media. Handy, this might be a job for you. Speaking of, ever get an idea of a charity I should donate to if newly registered female voters help propel Democrats to victory in the House?

NYT and WaPo both ran big stories Sunday about how the economy sucks and will sink Biden. Which it doesn't all at. Its almost as if the owners of the media giants want R to win so they personally can keep avoiding taxes.

The big firms in Germany preferred the Nazis over the Socialists. First as tragedy, then as farce.

The economy is much worse for most people than it was a year or two ago but it certainly isn’t Biden’s fault. There is only so much control over markets he has.

Amazing the consequences that failing to properly address a pandemic that kills millions, and sickens millions more, the effect that failing to properly address climate change has on drought, weather disasters, and related has on food production and goods distribution, has on an economy.

                Who could have known?

The economy doesn't suck if you're living in the D.C. suburbs, in one of your two homes, pulling down $400k annually with your spouse, reading the NYT and WaPo on Sundays, wondering whether you should spend Uncle Joe's student loan refund to you on a new Peloton.

But if you're 32, married with a couple of kids, and housing is expensive because it's non-existent, day care is absurd, and you were generally living paycheck to paycheck two years ago, the economy sucks.

The beauty is, both of you get to vote. The question is, which group is larger? They don't call it the 1% because it's a clever name.
That community is already in the process of dissolution where each man begins to eye his neighbor as a possible enemy, where non-conformity with the accepted creed, political as well as religious, is a mark of disaffection; where denunciation, without specification or backing, takes the place of evidence; where orthodoxy chokes freedom of dissent; where faith in the eventual supremacy of reason has become so timid that we dare not enter our convictions in the open lists, to win or lose.

and the plan from republicans to improve the economy is....?

To screw over seniors, take away more women's rights, and give cutbacks to that 1%.

I doubt there is a plan. I'm not saying that voters should sink Biden for the economy. What I'm saying is that anyone in Kepler's position that thinks the economy doesn't suck is oblivious.

You are missing my point. The entire economic order built since Reagan punishes everyone but the 1%. The economy doesn't suck -- it doesn't matter. The rise and fall of the market is completely cut off from the treatment of workers, which is always horrible.

That is what I meant. In the Neoliberal world which the GOP built and the Dems didn't try hard enough to stop because they are also co-opted, even a raging bull market won't help the average American. They are ****ed either way. This is the world your party built. Own it. You were duped. You cheered while they cut your throat because they preached hate against the people you hate too. But you were the biggest loser of all, which would be funny if it wasn't tragic that others had to suffer who didn't deserve it the way you do.

You are making my point for me, you just don't realize it.

The entire point is the economy is actually recovering from the incompetence of the Dump Error, and faster than it has any right to given the continuing sabotage by the Nazis. But it isn't helping anyone but me, because the American economy is now built for me. The Republican clowns who keep voting against any systemic Leftist change are going to make me almost impossibly rich, while the boom and bust cycle of their unmanaged laissez faire shell game (with corporate welfare) only hammers the typical worker more and more.

But, please keep voting R to enrich me, because you care about OH NOES TEH BABEEZ and are scared of being replaced. You have no idea how much I adore you for it. In lieu of money, here's a big ol' wet kiss.
