Meh, this one doesn't bother me.

I mean, if my wife becomes a judge, yeah I can't personally appear in front of her. But that doesn't mean the rest of my firm is inherently conflicted out. Or that a judge with a spouse in the state AG office is conflicted from ever having any AG appear in front of them.

This is even one more step removed from that. She's a recruiter who places attorneys at firms including those who appear before the Supremes, she's not directly an attorney with any of them. Meh.

Thomas' billionaire friend is a scandal. This isn't.

        • Cool, I disagree. It’s not as egregious as gorsich or Thomas but it ain’t great.

            It's also a months-old story.

            • And I can’t track everything in real time- I’m sure it came up this week because of gorsich revelation

the multiple articles I saw on it were all dated this week and didn’t reference earlier reporting so

              • Can't tell the GOP justices scandals without a scoreboard.

Impeach all of them. No, wait; keep Alito around for the humor of watching him write furious 8-1 dissents for the net 10 years screeching how much better the world was before child labor laws.

Yeah, I didn't get to go to private school for free. I wish I had.

                    • Harlan Crow's response:

“It’s disappointing that those with partisan political interests would try to turn helping at-risk youth with tuition assistance into something nefarious or political.”
Why is a kid being raised by a SC justice and millionaire wife considered at-risk? What are you trying to say about the Thomases, Haran?

                      • That being a millionaire doesn't cut it anymore in this country. If you're not a billionaire, you're f-cked.

SCOTUS licking their lips at overturning the Chevron principle in Loper Bright Enterprises v. Raimondo in the upcoming term. I'm sure putting all of the expertise eggs in the basket of the unelected judiciary will go swimmingly.

                          • Senate Dems are eying cutting Supreme Court funding until they adopt some ethics since you know, Congress "has the power of the purse". Maybe Roberts can just have Thomas' sugardaddy Crow cover the difference.

Since the Constitution says that the compensation paid to SCOTUS judges can't be cut during their tenure in office, any funding cuts will hit staff, so that plan sounds productive.
That community is already in the process of dissolution where each man begins to eye his neighbor as a possible enemy, where non-conformity with the accepted creed, political as well as religious, is a mark of disaffection; where denunciation, without specification or backing, takes the place of evidence; where orthodoxy chokes freedom of dissent; where faith in the eventual supremacy of reason has become so timid that we dare not enter our convictions in the open lists, to win or lose.
