Stuff like these decisions is why I am less concerned in '24 than most. Every time there is a poll showing Biden struggling with the GOP House or Supreme Court says HOLD MY BEER!!! and steals all the headlines. Then Biden gets to rail against it and everyone (minus certain types of voters that probably will vote for Marianne Williamson) gets to see why Biden is the guy we need. And the RFK Jr. talks and we all get a hardy chuckle!

Hell, they could both just wait until a GOP President in 2028 or 2032 and retire, like RBG should have done. If Senate stays blue in 2024, probably won’t stay that way long-term due to a number of factors I think we’ve all discussed on here.

SCOTUS rules 6-3 in favor of the right to discriminate against LGBTQ people. Shooting down student loan forgiveness is next. My guess is they’ll throw out the case for lack of standing that involves the two student loan borrowers, but rule 6-3 for the loan service providers.

Edit: And so they did. Student loan forgiveness is d-e-d, dead.

Basically nailed it on the head for student loan forgiveness. Been saying (more accurately, the people I read have been saying) since the appeals court blocked it in October that SCOTUS would use the major questions doctrine to strike it down for good. And so they did.
There is another way Biden could cancel student loan forgiveness, but even if he takes that route, I could easily see it meeting the same fate at this current attempt.
