It means Nutting will sell all his good players at the deadline, personally pocket the revenue, sink the team, and then cry poverty.

        • The only graduate of the University of North Dakota to ever play in the Show just made his debut with the Mets, and gave up an RBI single on his first pitch.

          His name is Zack Muckenhirn.

          • The Mets won tonight, 1-0, because a hard grounder that would have gone into right and scored the tying run from second struck the base runner from first who had just entered the game as a pinch runner.

            • The Tigers are 13-3 against teams not in the AL East. 9-1 against the NL. 15-17 overall. Craziness.

Their schedule prior to this weekend was a combined winning percentage of like .565, even after excluding wins against Detroit. Their next two weeks are against a winning percentage in the low .400s.

The last two games they lost are games they gave away, 4 errors in an inning against St. Louis, and 10+? stranded runners in a shutout loss yesterday to Cleveland. So Detroit is the best of the mediocre?

Also, is it possible for the entire AL Central to finish under 500?

With the new, more balanced scheduling I think it’s entirely possible. The AL East is all above .500 right now. The Yankees are in last but would be leading the Central divisions.

I didn't consider the effects of a more balanced schedule. Will be interesting to see if anything happens whe you are able to prove that entire divisions are mailing it in.

                              • Twins bullpen continues to be frustrating. Multiple walks and then a grand slam.

How can they be so jekyll and Hyde?
