              The A's only got 17k to come out for their home opener. Last night they had paid attendance of just 3,748. Tonight, albeit with a last minute adjustment to the start time, they pulled 2,703, their smallest attendance in 43 years.

              And now I just read there's a pack of 30-40 feral cats just living in the Coliseum? And they aren't going to relocate them for territorial purposes, expecting new feral cats to takeover if others leave, so they're going to spay and neuter them and bring them back. If anyone is writing a possible Major League reboot at the moment, just throw it out and pick up a camera, because the real life version is happening now.

                        I think Robinson Cano is next closest, and has an outside shot.
                        That community is already in the process of dissolution where each man begins to eye his neighbor as a possible enemy, where non-conformity with the accepted creed, political as well as religious, is a mark of disaffection; where denunciation, without specification or backing, takes the place of evidence; where orthodoxy chokes freedom of dissent; where faith in the eventual supremacy of reason has become so timid that we dare not enter our convictions in the open lists, to win or lose.

                            It’ll depend on health. A third of the players with 3000 hits got theirs in their 40’s, and Cano doesn’t turn 40 until late October. Still averaging a hit per game played for the last four or five years. Signed thru end of next season. I tend to think it’s 60/40 he makes it.

                              Don't sell his pharmacist short.

                              Cano's problem now is there's nowhere for him to play on the Mets, and nobody else is going to swallow that contract.
