  • Reddit, anyone?

How many of you are on Reddit? I've recently been poking around. Seems like it's basically just a site for message boards. I have not yet joined. I think I might but wanted to learn a little more about it. Are there any college hockey subreddits?

I'm on it. The college hockey subs are worthless -- I run one of them.

It's... varied. There are some hilarious subs. There are some intelligent subs. And there are... yikes.

I'd say reddit is the internet only moreso.

I'm on it. There are a few bicycle-related forums I like to check in on, as well as a good vinyl record sub. There's a good Curse of Oak Island subreddit where drunk-posting commentary of the week's episode in real time happens, and is often quite hilarious. An audiophile forum that I'm less enthused about(every nimrod with a cheap turntable and a pair of bookshelf speakers considers themselves an audiophile)

There's also plenty of, shall we say, more adult-oriented pursuits, should you be so inclined to explore.

Go to reddit, search on a topic of interest, and see what pops up.
What kind of cheese are you planning to put on top?

I play a game where I join a Leftist sub, simply behave naturally, and see how long it takes me to be banned. I have been banned on some after literally one post. It's even worse on the "Conservative" subs, which go from bordering on White Nationalism to stuff where Himmler would have said back away from the crack pipe.

My advice is do not generalize about humanity from reddit. It's highly self-selected. From the best Philosophy subs you would get the impression the median IQ is 140. From most of the political subs it seems more like 40.

Banned for not being libbie enough? Or too radical?

There's a Cycling Fashion sub that I joined, just to get an idea on good clothes, shoes, good deals and such, and there's one guy who's always on me. well, he's on everyrone.

Turns out it's not a sub for that purpose. it's more like "How do I look in this outfit?" and "do these bibs make my a55 look big?" You gotta wear the right color jersey with the right color shorts, helmet, shoes and sunglasses all have to match, all sorts of rules about what has to be worn with what, and this guy believes himself to be the arbiter of all that is acceptable, and what is not.

So I say, granted, still in the realm of clothes made specifically for cycling purposes, to "wear what you like, wear what you think looks good, wear whatever you want", and for this guy, that's the worst, most misinformed information you can offer.

The Communists ban me when I point out the CCP is just a capitalist wolf in Leninist clothing. The Anarchists ban me when I mention I have a floor (That's right I have a floor. So what? So what?) The Socialists ban me when I mention that Marx is 150 years out and the Frankfurt School is 50 years out and what comes next won't be anything like that, it will be the future's absorption of it into whatever their needs are. The Leftists (generally) ban me when I say I want to privatize companies but retain personal private property and I think democracy is required for any humane system.

I am, and I know this will come as a huge surprise to everyone here, not very welcome.

For now i only use Onlyboost to have something going on on my page but hopefully i will have more and more people interested in my content.
