        • The thin blue line.

A Hammond police officer was sentenced to 15 years in prison after pleading guilty to committing sex crimes against a child, prosecutors said.

The Hammond Police Department notified the Tangipahoa Sheriff's Office in August 2018 that one of their officers, 47-year-old Brad Core, confessed to sex crimes against a juvenile, a press release from the Tangipahoa District Attorney's Office said.

The investigation showed Core participated in illegal sexual activities with a child younger than 13 in Tangipahoa Parish, according to the DA's office.

15 years for taking a life for absolutely no reason at all. That's a pretty good deal for Chauvin. Don't get me wrong, I'm glad he was convicted and glad he'll do something more than city time, but man, there are people out there I may think are worth killing if I knew I'd come out in 15 years. It's just too bad some good guy with a gun wasn't there to save George Floyd...

He's going to have some interesting experiences. I guess they will keep him in the "cops who murdered people and actually got convicted" wing since the gen pop's going to want to kill him.

(Except Aryan Brotherhood. I'm sure the membership is already pre-approved. And of course he can run for office for the GOP (lateral move from AB) when he gets out. "I get results, one at a time.")

From what I've read from lawyers around the country, this is better than expected, and around what they had hoped for, all things considered. Most of us wanted more, but this is still 15+ years of his life that will be spent ... unpleasantly.

I mean, that's really the standard isn't it? If a cop in uniform is committing murder, how to you stop him?

It's why anyone acting on behalf of the state should have significantly harsher penalties for any crime they commit. Significantly.

Do you really think this? I’m sure the CO’s will look after him and his experience will be much different than the average person.

Also remember if all else fails he can still get Federal Time too right?

I was reading some legal experts yesterday who made the argument that Chauvin would receive 25yrs. They weren’t far off, but too bad they were over. The Price Is Wrong, bich.
