    Ok.

Again, you give information to a corporation and specifically authorize them to sell it to whomever they choose, don't complain to me when it falls into the hands of a government, some hackers, your ex-wife, or anyone else.

Also, predator drones with hellfire missiles go to bed at night and have wet dreams over committing the type of damage Google can inflict on the public in 15 minutes.

      • Except it would seem CPB doesn't have the authority to do this hence why Congress is upset about it. You seem to be ignoring that. The people consenting to have their life be online and trackable arent actually consenting to the government tracking them they are consenting to letting their data be sold for ads and content. The government has no business doing that especially if there is not some national security concern. The fact they are ignoring Congress about it shows they know they are in the wrong and they just dont care.

So then I would assume you don't have a problem if the Government decides to take it a step further...if tracking data is fine why not just allow them to buy access into our files. Hey Google and Apple and Microsoft should be able to sell access to our Cloud information as well right? I mean we generically consented and if we arent doing anything wrong...

Big Brother is bad, and no it doesnt matter who is in charge doing it. These clowns especially should never be allowed to do it but it is wrong no matter what. They have already been caught spying and tracking peaceful protesters at the Floyd Protests (along with the military cause hey...that is soooooo American) and now they are just doing it to anyone. This is the stuff most of the right rips Socialist and Communist Countries for and the Left rips Authoritarian Leaders for. I dont care if people consent to having their whole lives be taped if the government is requesting or buying access to that information (if they cant just get it without the company giving it to them) they should need a warrant. The company should also disclose to all of its customers it is willingly selling user information to the Government (which they dont) for the purposes of tracking legal US citizens 24/7.

        • You miss Hovey's point.

Its ok if Trump or any other Republican administration does it.

If the Obama or any other Democratic administration did it, its authoritarian government overstepping, and grounds for impeachment.
What kind of cheese are you planning to put on top?

            • Yeah, I tend to assume that pretty much everyone has the ability to gather information on me, and use it, if they choose. I don't lose any sleep over it because, a) I'm not doing anything illegal, b) if they want to find me, I'm not that hard to find and I've already given them my home address, work address, social security number, make/model/license plate number of my cars, and a host of other information and c) if the government is wasting their time following me and what I do, it's not all bad, because they ain't going to find anything and by wasting their time on me, they are diverting resources from doing something truly reprehensible.

So because they are evil morons who tend to destroy everything you are cool with them doing something illegal and unethical to prevent them from doing something else illegal and unethical? That is some twisted logic there man...

Well the precedent has been set...I guess Biden now has the right to spy on everyone. Does that mean Obama did too when he...oh I dont know...supposedly spied on Trump? (which he of course never did but just saying)

                      Sure.

First, gun manufacturers don't maintain a registry of guns and gun owners, I don't believe, unless you affirmatively choose to notify them by filing a warranty card or something.

Second, every time I've bought a gun I've had to fill out one of these. If the government chooses to buy information they already had in their possession, well, that seems like a very government like thing to do.

The government already has all of this information. However, they have chosen to pass a law that says that once they get it, they'll destroy it and won't keep track of it, which also seems like a very government thing to do.

                      Isn't legislating fun?

Everyone is spying on everyone else. For crying out loud, my wife put up a doorbell with a camera that dings her cell phone every time I pull into the driveway early to sneak out and play golf.

If you want to keep something a secret, including your whereabouts, here is a suggestion. Don't tell anyone.

That's why I love that Apple commercial with people walking around announcing their credit card number, their medical information, nasty emails about co-workers, etc... That's what everyone is doing every single day without thinking about it, and it kind of makes me laugh. It's like someone whining about persons finding out what people post here.

NRA lobbying fully supported by your party is fun, yes. That crap happens because the gun fondlers and the GOP have been thick as thieves (an apt phrase) for the last 40 years. Passive voice is not afoot here, it's you f-cks and a handful of Dems from derp districts.

Well, you’re going to be in charge in a couple of months so I expect you’ll correct that problem.
