So they get statues now, right?
Normally I say these people know better and just choose to act ignorant but Tom Cotton is truly that ****ing stupid.

DHS is much bigger than ICE and CBP. For example, Dr. Mrs. does civil liberties and privacy protections. And she's DHS. So is FEMA. So is the Secret Service. So is the frickin Coast Guard.

What's really going on is that within DHS the normal, non-psychotic careers are looking at ICE and CBP as Nazis and are horrified and sickened. Once upon a time those were laughed at as the idiot kids, but with the Republican party going full Nazi all of a sudden they are the go-to for every brown shirt task Dump et al dream up.

If we actually rid ourselves of the conservative scum, not only will every political be ridden out of town on a rail (if not indicted for crimes against humanity), but the gung-ho herpa derp storm troopers are going to be purged the time-honored way a bureaucracy does: reassignment. The equivalent of cops getting sent to give tickets in the ape cage at the Bronx Zoo.

Everyone was worried that Chauvin was going to somehow deprive the victim's family of a financial recovery by giving everything to his wife, who is divorcing him. Turns out the feds will take it all.
That community is already in the process of dissolution where each man begins to eye his neighbor as a possible enemy, where non-conformity with the accepted creed, political as well as religious, is a mark of disaffection; where denunciation, without specification or backing, takes the place of evidence; where orthodoxy chokes freedom of dissent; where faith in the eventual supremacy of reason has become so timid that we dare not enter our convictions in the open lists, to win or lose.

They earned enough to under report their income by $100k/year which means their actual income was....? I know he achieved a decent rank but...

It was strange. When the initial reports of their divorce came out, it was said that his wife was seeking ownership of both their homes, including one in Florida. My reaction was really?

It sounds like he was maybe pulling in some heavy cash from sideline "work." Who knows what that includes.

                          • There was an article I read, said he was a realtor on the side, along with his day job beating and killing people.

Probably in Fla., along with the second home.

Other than being a Field Training Officer, did he ever get promoted to a rank higher than whatever Minneapolis calls their basic patrol officers? I have never watched any video of the murder he committed but have seen a number of still photos and never noticed any rank insignia on his collar or sleeves. Of course after nearly two decades on that force I would be shocked if he wasn't pulling down in excess of $100,000 annually. Plus didn't his wife have money?
