On the first day of Oregon’s statewide mask order, a group of Oregon State troopers refused to wear face coverings inside a Corvallis coffee shop despite being asked to so. “F— [Gov.] Kate Brown,” one of the troopers reportedly said. There’s video, too.

          • I don't know how many of these firings will stand up, but I love that they're happening! Best of all the jobs they are losing are statistically very likely to pay a lot more than the next job they are likely to get, as police officers make, on average, nearly 35% more than the median wage in the United States. Hope your kids enjoy having to go back to public schools you racist jackas ses.

                • I see the children on the Minneapolis City Council finally got called before the adults to answer some questions about their plan to "defund" the Minneapolis Police Department.

"If investing money in the disadvantaged communities is the solution to resolving crime, instead of policing, why hasn't that investment been made?"

                  (crickets)

"If we need to substantially reduce the number of police officers in the City of Minneapolis, and if the current charter only mandates 730 officers, why do you have 892, and why haven't you reduced that number to 730, which you can do without a vote of the people or change in the charter?"

                  (crickets)
That community is already in the process of dissolution where each man begins to eye his neighbor as a possible enemy, where non-conformity with the accepted creed, political as well as religious, is a mark of disaffection; where denunciation, without specification or backing, takes the place of evidence; where orthodoxy chokes freedom of dissent; where faith in the eventual supremacy of reason has become so timid that we dare not enter our convictions in the open lists, to win or lose.

Are you really that dense? Up until recently, taking money from cops at all was going to be a major problem, especially because the cop union would cry murder anytime cuts happen. Just like now.

Essentially the cops had a larger say in funding stuff just because they can extort via fear. Now we understand that the fear isn't being fearful of each other, we should be fearful of the cops- since they are doing damage when they claim not to.

And it's constantly nice to see that you take the word "defund" as quite literal as opposed to changing the structure that other cities have done- with massive success. Not only do you take it quite literally, you also do the typical r fear tactic of going to the extreme that defund = elimination.

Grow up, and see that there's a problem. If you can't see that there's a problem with the cops, given the constant abuse on the public- particularly minorities- then perhaps we should just ignore your points. Unless you think that carrying a counterfeit cash is a capitol offense that does not require a judge and jury. Or just walking home with a mask on. Or just walking home.

That's what the council was asked by the Commission, and pretty much the Council's response. It is not something I am making up.

Everything that I've posted about the process, from the very first time someone suggested Minneapolis was going to defund the police, has turned out to be true. You've thus far had a very difficult time admitting that. I can't help you there.

The fact that these clowns had to come in and try to answer some very difficult, but pretty obvious, questions isn't my fault.
