One of the cops who killed Floyd (the one who wanted him flipped over and supposedly did CPR) was confronted at a grocery store. (the one I shop at and worked at years ago) While I hope the guy spends the rest of his life in jail for now he is out on bail leave him be. He will get his. And yes, that notion would be aided if people pay too much attention to slogans designed to garner attention. That's the problem with slogans. I don't think it'll harm Biden himself since a re-election campaign is simply a referendum on the incumbent. I do think it can harm the down ballot races including the Senate. Doesn't matter if the argument is legitimate or not, doesn't matter that it's shorthand for a myriad of underlying policy changes, fact remains that when you say "abolish the police," a majority of Americans react negatively. And it's also attached to the Democrats, as the more liberal of the two major parties, whether an individual candidate supports it or not.Originally posted by Handyman View Post
