it happened fast. They didn’t announce before going in. Guy wasn’t on warrant, but he had a gun. But also he didn’t know who was breaking in

And he had a license for the gun. But he probably jaywalked once so he deserved it.

Will someone please tell the ****ing MPD they don't need to kill Black People all the time. For ****** sake they were the ****ing SWAT team and they were fearing for their life from a dude asleep on a couch? Even if he was the guy they were looking for that is a ****ing assassination not an arrest.

No knock warrants need to be outlawed.

I have a friend that lives in that building :^(

edit: weird you can type **** but you can't add the "'s" to it.

    The thin blue line.

COLUMBUS CO., N.C. (WECT) - Former Chadbourn Police Chief Anthony Spivey, who is facing dozens of charges related to drug trafficking and embezzling from the police department, now is accused of stealing two catalytic converters.

According to an arrest warrant, Spivey was taken into custody Wednesday and charged with larceny by an employee.

The warrant states that he took two catalytic converters from his employer, M&M Auto Repair, on Dec. 23.

Spivey was arrested in April 2021 and charged with more than 70 offenses. The former chief is accused of repeatedly raiding the police department’s evidence room and stealing a variety of narcotics, thousands of dollars in cash, and firearms.

In June 2021, Spivey was charged with embezzling $8,000 meant for a family whose son was battling leukemia. According to the indictment, Spivey allegedly took money intended for the Buffkin family, who lost their son, Philip Tanner Buffkin, to his battle with leukemia in August of 2019.

For the second straight year, Covid 19 killed more cops than everything else. Combined. Covid claimed 557 cop lives in 2020 and 2021. 288 died from all other causes. Twice as many to Covid-19 than everything else.

That it happened in 2020 may lead to a little sympathy since even those cops that would have taken the vaccine had no opportunity to. That it happened again in 2021 is almost laughable because in every corner of this country law enforcement were the first ones provided an opportunity to get vaccinated.

In fact one wonders how many more people died while doses of the vaccine, set aside for idiot anti-vaxxer cops, went unused instead of being given to other people who would have been only too willing to take the jabs.

And GDPR is no ****ing joke. But I'm curious how that applies to the state. I'm not sure I've heard of any government orgs getting sued for violations. Yet. (Again, not saying it doesn't apply, just have no idea how it will.)

That's actually kind of surprising considering the ever-present GDPR considerations that go into every IT project that might remotely touch the EU.
