When you take out the politics and needing your side to be right it is plain weird to think this is an argument. We have people promoting flouting the laws put in place to protect against death and implying you should be ashamed for expecting someone to not do something that will kill. This. is. weird. And it shows us just how simplistic and infantile we have become about the concept of freedom to do what you want. If it causes another person harm- physical, financial - meh- that is their problem.

Because I also agree, and I know quoting and saying I agree annoys hovey. I'm sure it is just common sense to stay out of it, just like letting other people wander around potentially spreading expensive and deadly viruses.

This study done by the Brits was posted on this forum earlier. I've referenced it a few times in Facebook discussions with my derp kuntry kuzins in rural Ohio (it didn't help...).

The faster reply would be to google "mask effectiveness" and add stuff to that- study, covid, etc. There are more studies are article about it than one is able to post at once.

And they all say the same thing- wearing a mask filters droplets on the way out preventing virus from getting out, and they also filter droplets on the way in, keeping viruses out. The rates of filtering is different, but both are an increase- to the point of being able to reduce the likelihood of getting an infectious dose.

Sometimes for sh*ts and giggles one can replace the words “COVID-19” with “AIDS” then imagine how the righty tighty whiteys would react. In this instance I use AIDS instead of HIV on purpose due to their freak out in the 80’s and how revolted they were when it was mentioned.
Even better, replace the debate of use of a face mask with a condom......Bet the “hoax” talk, “price of doing business “ talk would disappear in trumpyland and on fox....National emergency to the highest levels. Infection and mortality rates skyrocketing......Your fox headlines.

These frauds in charge now would mandate condoms or probably even outlaw sex, except for white baptists screwing in the missionary position.

Just imagine the different response from the trumpettes.....

My general response to those asking...or flat out denying...mask effectiveness....is if they aren't effective...why are medical professionals wearing them then?

They freaked once it started infecting them. For many years...it was a "them" virus and the right didn't care at all. Hell IIRC Reagan didn't even say the word AIDS for 4 years after they first found it.
