I wouldn't put the overall violence after Ep 2 or so on the same level as an average Saw movie - more like John Wick-lite.

I enjoyed the character development enough to stick through it to the end and am glad I did. It's not high art but definitely provocative.

    • Yeah I finished it a week or two ago. The violence wasn't as bad as most have described it. I enjoyed the series.

      • The violence is a plot point of the Squid Game, it's not a reason to watch the show.

I'm still processing the final episode. Up until then it's a very good show. I just don't know how I feel about it. (Please avoid spoilers for those who have not seen.)

        • I'd never actually seen The Connors before. Wow, is it terrible. Is this really what red hats are watching? The humor isn't funny and the drama is written at a high school level.

I know, I know, but even so. Come on, man.

There's probably quite a bit of crossover to folks watching "The Neighborhood" to convince themselves they're not racist because the lead telling equally insipid jokes is a darkie. I gave it 2 episodes and nope.

btw - now that I am back home I will miss watching FNC with my father and hearing his commentary just obliterating the total tom-fuckery that is that channel. My dad leans right but even he would love to see their HQ nuked.

My sons watched a recent animated series (something Bunch? - I think post clone wars) and they were very happy with it.

                • Only Murders in the Building was pretty good. Definitely a better role for Martin Short than that dreadful Santa Clause sequel I last saw him in.

Yeah I liked it. Kinda sagged in the middle but I dug the ending.

Pretty sure Red Hats don't watch The Conners cause they kicked Rosanne off the show.

The Bad Batch. Which in itself is okay. Clearly geared toward younger viewers. Started to pick up a little near the end. I'll give season two a shot if/when it comes.

Ending of murders in the building was great!

                            • Semi-binged Another Life on Netflix. Not sure why the critics panned it so much. Yeah, it's trope heavy and doesn't do much new in the military sci-fi genre, but that's true of a lot of shows. It's a solid B, in my opinion, but that may just be cause of the dearth of sci-fi shows lately.

Season 2 is better than season 1, and the ending is a satisfying payoff.
