    • Outside of the Olympics, I have had zero desire to pick up Peacock.

      • Huh? My most recent Xfinity bill did not say that. I don't watch it a lot, but it's a back up for old Law & Order episodes that I'm addicted to. And I really liked Poker Face.

        • I've actually used Peacock a fair amount. Some movies, some tv shows (both new and re-watching old favorites). They will also likely add college football to their streaming this fall as well (Big Ten games I think and maybe others). That's not a selling point for me but it might be for some.

Yea, they have ND vs Central Michigan on there along with a few other lower-key B1G games. They announced the schedule a week or two back.

We got an email about it...it is definitely happening.

What these streamers forget is that we subscribe because watching them is only slightly more convenient than using our VPN to torrent shows, movies and music but the moment they add hoops to make it more difficult (or prohibitively expensive) back to the Pirate's Bay we go.
What they also forget is that we all know how easy it is to cancel, then re-sign up later if for some reason we need it back for a month. Hell if you time it right you will end up getting it for free. That is why it is called "On Demand".

Peacock probably assumes that between sports and the WWE network and some re-runs people will want to keep it. Honestly most people dont even know they have it. Comcast/NBC Universal is way overreaching.

                  • I used it to watch a gopher hockey game or two a while back (must have been against Notre Dame) because it lined up with the Olympics. Cancelled it after a month.

It is. And Poker Face which someone else mentioned. It also has Psych and the movies that followed. Yellowstone, parks and Rec, Brooklyn 99, The Office, AP Bio, Law and Order, Superstore, 30 Rock, a pretty large selection of movies and the sports mentioned already.

If it's a deal where you can share it with friends/family who might be paying for a different service I think it's worth it. I pay for peacock, Max, and PBS passport. Otter family members do Disney, Netflix, Hulu, Amazon, Paramount and we all share.

                          • Some things on Peacock you can watch elsewhere. Psych for example is on Amazon Prime. And Yellowstone is on Paramount Plus which is vastly superior to Peacock anyways.

I was gonna say, I thought the YCU was the main thing Paramount has going for it. Peacock's bragging point was "remember all of NBC's great 90s shows? well we sold those to other streamers for peanuts, so here's what's left".

They didn't own them anyways. Warner Brothers owned Friends and a bunch of other ones. ABC owned Scrubs. NBC damn near went broke paying out rights fees...
