    The stupid thing is the Writers wanted like $426 million in the deal. Studios said no. Studios lost $10 billion in stock value in 1 day. Nice math phuckwits.

                Sympathy strikes and work actions are usually the killers in these situations and they typically strengthen the other unions as well.

                Also, TIL the President of SAG-AFTRA is Fran Drescher.

                  BTW the trades are running anti union stories so beware. Now the trades always fellated the studios for access but now many of them are owned by the same companies! For example The Hollywood Reporter is owned by a company that has a stake in Netflix and A24...and own the Chelsea Futbol Team.

                      Started House of the Dragon tonight since my wife was out on the town.

                      It was pretty decent the first two or three episodes. Definitely going to continue it

                        Duffers here. Writing does not stop when filming begins. While we’re excited to start production with our amazing cast and crew, it is not possible during this strike. We hope a fair deal is reached soon so we can all get back to work. Until then -- over and out. #wgastrong
                        Final season of Stranger Things on hold it would appear. I am sure Netflix can weather that storm with their plethora of top flight content...

                          I thought I saw an article that said Netflix sorta saw the writing on the wall and stockpiled a bunch of new material to trot out during the strike, while the other streamers had already emptied most their material early.

                              A catalog that is niche and doesn't have a super strong following. Netflix is (pardon the pun) a House of Cards (and their financials are a fraud) and I think a prolonged strike is going to hurt them easily the most.

                              (this is where someone trots out their BS "viewership" numbers which can manipulated and with them almost certainly are)

                                People have to actually want to watch their material for a stockpile to matter. If it was anyone but Netflix that info would have more meaning to me.
