You want them to move the franchise too? Tough break for Cleveland.

This got me in a rabbit hole of singular team names.

          MLB and NFL have zero.
NBA has four, though the plural of thunder and jazz is the same as singular and it looks debatable about magic and heat.
NHL has three, though lightning is also plural. So Wild and Avalanche are the only true singular names in the four major leagues.

Also learned the Avalanche were almost named Rocky Mountain Extreme, but it got terrible publicity after it was leaked. The only way to make that more peak 90s would have been to spell it Xtreme and make the colors purple, teal, and black.

                • The Canadian government has reportedly
told the Blue Jays players they will be held to the fullest extent of the Quarantine Act if found outside the stadium. That’s $1,000,000 CAD and potential jail time.

And the amount of people who think this is somehow the Blue Jays or MLB imposing this is maddening.

                        • Canada has denied the Jays request to play in Toronto. The two favorites at this point are Dunedin and Buffalo. Given how Florida is doing right now, I'm going to say Buffalo will be hosting its first major league baseball season since the Buffalo Blues of the Federal League in 1915.

That's pretty cool except of course they should not be playing.

Why don’t they just play all road games? It seems like this would be easiest.

This is an interesting thought. It makes you wonder about "home field advantage" when you remove crowd influence.
