He's got electric stuff. Just has to figure out how to pitch.
That community is already in the process of dissolution where each man begins to eye his neighbor as a possible enemy, where non-conformity with the accepted creed, political as well as religious, is a mark of disaffection; where denunciation, without specification or backing, takes the place of evidence; where orthodoxy chokes freedom of dissent; where faith in the eventual supremacy of reason has become so timid that we dare not enter our convictions in the open lists, to win or lose.

I like them more than starting AA relievers on 2 days notice (a thing we actually did this year).

It sounds to me like Berrios is high risk / high reward and that's not what we need. We need Jamie Moyer to soak up 7 innings every fifth day and give up 3 or 4 runs and then we take our chances.

Berrios might actually thrive as a Met. Here in Minnesota he was expected to be deGrom. In NY, that role has been taken.

            Exactly.
Berrios is misslotted being in the Twins rotation.

He's not "Spahn and Sain*", he's more "and pray for rain".

            *"Scott and Deshaies"?

            • Cubs have lost 11 straight since their no hitter. They are definitely sellers at this point.

There actually is something to this, it happened with Seaver and Gooden too. Nobody expects you to be the ace. There are many, many pitchers to whom that is an unalloyed blessing. Koosman and Darling and now Stroman seem to be extremely happy just being "wow this guy is amazing and he's only their 2!"

Not a Mets guy ... was Viola a "happy to be the two-slot" guy also after Minnesota or was he the Mets staff ace?

You hope a club house attendant or ball boy got something signed by at least one clubhouse.

                            • First derby I watched since I attended in Minnesota.

Espn sucks ****ing *** at cameras and graphics. It couldn't have been worse.

I was sad to see Ohtani get bounced. His swing was just too good. Seemed like he was on autopilot to pound balls to the gaps. Probably better he didn't keep going and ruin his swing anymore than this already did.
