I thought they were originally only going to get a 10% raise between now and 2025. They doubled that.

Good. I'm kind of shocked to be honest.

Some hick senator from North Dakota was being interviewed on CNBC this morning because he was parroting all the Fox News talking points about inflation and had nothing of substance.

Did you know that according to this guy, Biden singlehandedly killed all oil production in North Dakota by not allowing the Keystone XL pipeline? And that goods now cost a ton more than they did in 2020? And that it's Biden's fault so many people got laid off in 2020. And the price of turkeys is astronomical this year?

Everytime a GQP congressman is interviewed on CNBC I want to drive my truck into a light pole.

Not one of these a**holes ever talk about how in 2020 inflation never happened because of the pandemic. They need to wipe the rest of 2020 from their brains (because obviously they're able to ignore the election) and compare 2021 to 2019.

It's what they do. They destroy the economy, let the Democrats take over, blame the Democrats for their destruction, then get elected again by all the stupid morons in the United States who can't add it up. For people willing to work, right now and for the foreseeable future, it's a great time. Jobs are plentiful and employers are going to be willing to pay for good people.

I don't want to pee in your cheerios regarding your employer's motive, but I would guess this is less about them wanting you to feel your worth and more about them recognizing that they have a good employee, and one that they don't want to, or can't afford to lose right now.

Either way, what do you care. The cash is going in your pocket.
Just to clarify: I'm just a grunt here. Non-management.

This is an effect on ground-level employees. The number of applicants is WAY down, but our turnover rate has remained steady. They need to do something to bring people in, or things are gonna start to get real bleak as we head into 2022...

But again, I'm just riding things out because I finally had a livable wage (and this raise allows me to actually dump money into a 401K and work towards a new vehicle much faster). So it's just gravy at this point. At least until consumer prices rise up and take a chunk of the pay raise.

Well we obviously can't have that, that's socialism! Somewhere some rock farmer from South Dakota who can barely rub two nickels together to feed his family of twelve is going to be one of those elites some day, so he can't ever vote to tax the rich to provide a safety net for his family. Because **** anyone else in the same boat he's in, *his* family is gonna get theirs before the others.
