Well, there's your problem. My GE toaster won't even toast bread for the correct time

Will be interesting if this goes anywhere https://www.pressherald.com/2024/01/...-to-tackle-it/

Obviously it has to happen eventually but will cause a lot of pain when it does.

The cryptobro at work has had a deposit on a $100k 'Foundation Series' Cybertruck since 2019, because of course.

He was told it'd be delivered in 2020. He's obviously still waiting. :-D

You all remember that cute video Tesla released showing the Cybertruck on a drag strip quarter mile beating a Porsche 911 while towing a Porsche 911?

Because some engineers broke down the video, did the math, and found out:
    - It was an 1/8th mile marker we see in the video.
    - The trailer tires were only rated for 80mph.

And Elmo publicly lied about it.

As someone summed up on Threads: the largest automaker by market cap spent the time and money to rent out a drag strip, two identical 911s, a trailer, and film/production crew, but couldn't be bothered to run to a Discount Tire for proper tires for the trailer?

An Amazon rant.... Or more correctly, an anti-amazon rant...

I get it that local vendors and companies are taking in the rear because of Amazon. And I do my best to buy local as much as I possibly can.

But what do you do when you can't get that *thing* nearby? Or worse- when you get it 1/3 the cost on Amazon than locally? There are some prescription drugs that are OTC available now, meaning your insurance barely covers them. If at all. So you order them, and decide to look if you can find them elsewhere. And it turns out that you can get 3x the amount for a fraction of the cost on the zon. If the pharmacy really wants me to get them from them, first- offer them OTC. Second, offer at a reasonable price. Without that, I would be a moron for not saving significant money getting things on amazon.

    Drives me crazy that problem.

    Thankfully, that's reasonably rare.

Skeptical though I remain, BTC and Ethereum seem like they might have longevity. Lots of scams out there, though.

Sadly the amount of groups that welcome rug pulls is kind of crazy. Every influencer has basically pumped and dumped their fans (Logan Paul twice!) and nothing is ever done about it.

And it is important to differentiate between that stuff and other coins which are not scams. Some use coins to fun legit business ventures which is why their value tends to hold. Not all of them are money laundering...

So we legitimize a laundering service. Why does this feel like a new Savings & Loan way to destroy the economy?
