The devil is in the details and I have little faith that an Adams-led city government will do this well, but I do not think it's a bad thing to push more people into hospitalization. A high number of homeless people need it due to moderate-to-severe mental illness. Reagan's gutting of the mental healthcare world is still ****ing us, 40 years later.I gotta little bit of smoke and a whole lotta wine...Comment

Being in a hospital is probably a better outcome than not for many of these homeless individuals, especially when the temperatures drop in the winter. I won’t claim to know the details of Adams’ plan, so if it turns out it’s excellent and helpful, rather than harmful to those suffering from mental illness, I’ll eat crow.
