These rubes remind me of a story my wife tells about a class she taught (ironically, it touched on CRT) at UO. One of her students was a well-scrubbed Mormon blue-eyed blonde-haired sorority girl of above average pulchritude and ahem middling intellect. But towards the middle of the semester she literally said "I actually just realized that (touching her arm) this is a color, too."

It seems like there is a swath of 30+ states where people just assume you are either "normal" or "deviant," and the deviants should be tolerated but let's be serious that's a courtesy we are extending to them. "Normal" is white straight Christian capitalist. And this is so ingrained, so unconscious, that they can go their entire lives without ever realizing they happen to be arbitrary characteristics with no more or less value than any other.

It's "we have both kinds: country and western."

I thank Xenophanes I was born and raised in a cosmopolitan coastal city where, as loathsome and unpleasant as people are (and trust me, you flats don't hold them in any lower esteem than I), at least they have absorbed the fundamental fact that they're no different from any other as-shole by the time they are 8.

Well, we know brain structure is genetic. It doesn't take too much a leap to know that an oversized amygdala relative to the frontal lobes is passed down through DNA. I was reading an article recently that talked about domesticated animals having significantly smaller adrenal glands than their closest wild relatives.
