          I could have sworn a few years ago one of the Dakotas was ground zero for all those weepy stories about losing the family farm (or ADM franchise or whatever) because the kids all got outta Dodge.

          Was that SD, not ND? Or was it before fracking gave the state an actual economy again? Or am I thinking of Iowa?

                Now, I'm sure rufus will be along shortly to claim that's because we killed them all with Covid. My hunch is that it has something to do with the idea that once you've lived in ND for 65 years and finally reach retirement age, you reach the conclusion there might be somewhere warmer on the planet in which to reside.

                          No, that was a different scenario. The MN GOP refused to ratify the senatorial election because there were allegations of rampant voter fraud. When the recounts, investigations, and finally the court case was decided, then Franken's election was confirmed. He lost out on 3(?) months of seniority compared to the other freshmen senators.

                          FYI, they did find one case of voter fraud, but that guy self-reported to TV news as having voted in multiple counties in order to prove that voter registration was a joke. I don't recall if he ever said for whom he voted.

                            Both Dakotas got a lot younger as they've allowed their older population to die off from a mostly preventable disease.
