I read this date: Chick Corea. He used to play at the tiny The Haunt in Ithaca in between huge gigs in Montreal and NYC every year I was in college, so I missed 4 chances to see him in a 200-person venue. I suck. RIP.Cornell University

I was wondering yesterday if he was famous since I had not heard of him. I learned about his death in a rather strange manner which requires some background. About ten years ago, I googled the name of my niece Emily Baer and even at time all of the links which came up were to a piano protegy named Emily Bear. I have been following her career as a pianist, composer, singer, etc. since then. She is now 19. For the last month she has been developing with Abigail Barlow a musical adaption of the Netflix series Bridgerton which I otherwise would not have heard of. They have been posting lengthy Instagram videos of their sessions every day. Due to their length and repetitiousness, I have not listened to most of these, but it was pointed out on a message board that Emily learned about Corea's death a little after the 58:00 mark of this Instagram video https://www.instagram.com/tv/CLKzDqW...=1d10ir67p8swv. An about 4-minute tribute follows.
One of numerous articles about Barlow and Bear's work https://people.com/tv/bridgerton-the...eators-tiktok/.
