I always think "this was a good movie for 85 minutes that became a pot boiler for the last 5."

But I guess the real star is the mountains anyway, and they aren't going anywhere.

It's funny, you mentioned the ending and I started thinking where've I seen a similar ending before. "Colorado Territory" a western remake of High Sierra with Joel McCrae and Virginia Mayo and Raoul Walsh directed both. Another 'wait a minute' scene was when McCrae first meets Mayo and she does a Gilda-esque hair flip when Glenn Ford first met Rita Hayworth.

        • So, I'm watching the 1974 movie version of the Bertold Brecht play Galileo, and in the final act guess who shows up as Pope?

                Yup: Michael Lonsdale.

And Galileo is played by Tevye (Chaim Topol).

                  • So with another disappointing opening that’s pretty much gotta be it for the Wizarding World movies right?

At least until Rowling is dead?

Rowling put bullets in her own feet with her phobic comments. I'm here for that though!

Yeah, they apparently did some pretty sloppy editing to tie up the loose threads so if there are no parts 4 and 5 it doesn't matter. That's what I've heard anyway; I have no intention of seeing this myself.
If Warner Bros does move ahead with additional entries in this franchise, look for reduced budgets. This one came in at a cool $200M - and that's just production budget. After marketing and other expenses, this will be close to $400M worldwide. If this film makes a profit, it won't be much. I would expect WB will be happy with the billions it has already made with the franchise and call it a day.

                        • Well it was better than the last one, but as someone who has no real connection to Potter (never read or watched them) if it is the end it wont make me sad. Will save me money having to take the girlfriend ;^)

Rowling is so problematic it would probably be best to just let it sit for a while...they have Di$neyed this up enough.

                            • get ye to watch 100 Foot Wave on HBO Max.

excellent documentary. On par with Free Solo and Valley Uprising.

We also watched 14 peaks. The feat was incredible and enjoyable to see someone accomplish it, but the documentary was not good. Should have been at least 8-9 hours longer.

                                Uneven.

Spoilers: I liked the Garfield, McGuire fan service, sue me. I hate, hate, hate every second M. J. is on screen. I guess Defoe needed the money. The parallel reality sequence was fantastic. All the fight sequences were boring, as always. Cumberbund was okay but man is he over it. No Longer S-xy Aunt May was unnecessary and uninteresting. Doc Oc was great! All in all, meh.
