  • "It's an adaptation of 'The Scarlet Letter'!" No, no it is ****ing not. They mention The Scarlet Letter a few times. That does not make it an adaptation. There is no parallel to plot or characters. I don't get to have someone yell "Hamlet!" for 90 ****ing minutes on screen while they are taking a **** and call it an adaptation of Hamlet. Watching this movie does not count as a reading a ****ing book!

    • And the woman playing her best friend is clearly entering menopause during the filming. I know Hollywood likes to cast older people to play teenagers but at least pick someone who wasn't born during the Kennedy administration.

      • Been binging on Chappelle specials of late including Equanimity, Sticks & Stones, 8:46 and the Mark Twain award show. I love Burr, Carlin, Pryor and even CK, but Chappelle is hands down the GOAT and I hope he's able to keep doing more for years to come.

Did you watch his 30 minutes or so he filmed after George Floyd’s death? Only a few jokes, but it’s poignant, smart, and told from the perspective of a guy who’s clearly seen some **** from the police.

It’s not a re-telling, they just clearly used it as the springboard for their story. It’s a fun movie, especially When considering the theater audience it was trying to reach.

Saw this last night and agreed. This was Dave showing his intelligence and ability to get a very poignant point across. Once again I'm impressed by how intelligent he is.

                        • My only nits with the review are:

                          1. Lord Dark Helmet was always a bad as-s. We're just used to all the parodies now.

                          2. There was nothing redeeming in I.

                          3. IV is far and away the best of the set.
